The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 is a compact camera designed for Raspberry Pi. It features a 12-megapixel IMX708 sensor that supports HDR and includes phase detection autofocus. The Camera Module 3 is available in both standard and wide-angle variants, with options for models that include or exclude an infrared cut filter.

Camera Module 3 NoIR is perfect for “night vision” and infrared photography, taking pictures in low-light (twilight) environments. No additional lens is required to use this camera; it is ready to go as-is!

The Camera Module 3 is capable of capturing Full HD video and still photographs, offering an HDR mode with a resolution of up to 3 megapixels. It operates seamlessly with the libcamera library, which fully supports the module’s rapid autofocus feature. This makes it user-friendly for beginners while still offering advanced options for experienced users. Additionally, the Camera Module 3 is compatible with all Raspberry Pi computers.

The size and mounting holes of the PCB remain unchanged from those of Camera Module 2. However, due to improved optics, Camera Module 3 is several millimetres taller than Camera Module 2.
