The MF RC522 is a versatile 13.56MHz contactless card reader chip developed by NXP for low-cost, compact applications like smart devices. It supports various 13.56MHz communication protocols, including 14443A. It handles framing, error detection, and encryption like CRYPTO1 and MIFARE products. With data rates up to 424kbit/s for MIFARE cards, it offers fast communication. It’s part of a chip family with similar features, and communicates via SPI, reducing connection size and cost.

The MF522-AN module uses the Philips MFRC522 original reader circuit chip design, which is simple to use and inexpensive in cost, making it ideal for equipment development, the creation of sophisticated applications such as reader users, and the requirement for RF card terminal design/manufacturing. This module may be easily loaded into a number of reader molds. The module employs 3.3V voltage, and using the SPI interface, a few lines may be directly attached to any CPU board communication module, ensuring stable and dependable work and reader distance.
