The LM2596 Power Supply DC-DC Buck Converter Step-Down Module is a step-down (buck) switching regulator capable of driving a 3-A load with good line and load control. These devices come with fixed output voltages of 3.3 V, 5 V, and 12 V, as well as an adjustable output version. Because the LM2596 series operates at a switching frequency of 150kHz, smaller-sized filter components are possible than with lower frequency switching regulators.
This is an LM2596 DC-DC buck converter step-down power module with a high-precision potentiometer that can drive a load of up to 3A with high efficiency and is compatible with Freeduino UNO, other mainboards, and basic modules. If the output current is larger than 2.5A (or the output power remains greater than 10W), please install a heat sink.
This device is internally adjusted in order to reduce the amount of external components in the power supply architecture. Because the LM2596 converter is a switch-mode power supply, its efficiency is much better than that of typical three-terminal linear regulators, especially at higher input voltages. The LM2596 has a switching frequency of 150 kHz, which allows for fewer filter components than would be required with lower-frequency switching regulators.
