The ADS1115 is a high-resolution 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that communicates over I2C and can sample at 860 samples/second. It offers four input channels, which can be configured as either four single-ended or two differential channels. It’s compatible with a wide voltage range (2V to 5.5V) and can be used with common microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
You can connect up to four ADS1115 modules to the same I2C bus, expanding your analog input options significantly. The module includes a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) for signal amplification (up to x16), allowing precise measurement of small analog signals.
For measuring voltages higher than the max analog input, you can create a voltage divider using resistors to bring the voltage within the module’s range. Single-ended inputs provide 15-bit resolution, while differential inputs offer the full 16-bit resolution and are more immune to signal noise.
