By comparing acceleration values against user-defined thresholds, it can detect the presence or absence of motion.

The ADXL345 3-DOF IMU Accelerometer module goes beyond basic sensing functionalities by incorporating advanced features like tap sensing and free-fall detection. It can identify single and double taps in any direction, offering expanded interaction possibilities. Moreover, the free fall sensing feature can reliably detect instances when the device is in a state of free fall.

The sensor encompasses three independent axes of measurement: X, Y, and Z. To suit different application requirements, the sensitivity level can be adjusted to four different settings: ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, or ±16g.
