The BH1750 is a light-intensity sensor that may be used to control the brightness of LCD displays and mobile phone screens. It may also be used to turn on/off automobile headlights based on the ambient illumination. The sensor communicates through the I2C protocol, making it ideal for usage with microcontrollers. I2C is represented by the SCL and SDA pins.
There is no need for a computation to determine the LUX value because the sensor provides it immediately. Actually, it calculates the intensity based on the amount of light that strikes it. The BH1750 has a voltage range of 2.4V-3.6V and a very low current consumption of 0.12mA. This module, on the other hand, has a voltage regulator that can accept 3.3V to 5.0VDC input. The sensor’s results are independent of the light source employed, and the impact of IR radiation is minimal. Because the measurement variance is as low as +/-20%, there are relatively little chances of inaccuracy.
