The Arduino motor shield is a great tool for motor control with Arduino. This shield can drive 2 DC motors with higher power requirements and uses the L298P chip to allow you to drive two 7-12V DC motors with a maximum 2A current. It can be directly mounted onto a standard Arduino Uno and Arduino Mega. Speed control is achieved through conventional PWM, obtained from Arduino’s PWM output Pin 5 and 6. The motor shield can be powered directly from Arduino or an external power source. It is recommended to use an external power supply to power the motor shield. This shield is ideal for building an Arduino robot or other motor control projects.
